As the cold weather rolls around I tend to live in boots so I usually invest in a pair or two each autumn/winter. This year my star buy have been these simple black pointed boots. I have been seeing block heels everywhere recently which are a great option for being both stylish and comfortable enough for running around castings. I am terrible for getting blisters and having to wear high heels most days in work I often will get achy feet so I just want a comfy pair to put on afterwards. It’s very tempting to just wear trainers every day but I find boots are a more fashionable option while still being practical in the colder months and rainy weather.
I went to an outlet village a few week back and had a quick browse in Clarkes when I spotted these. I’ve never bought shoes from them before but I had heard good things. I’m going to go as far as saying these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! To prove my point I wore these right after I bought them for a day of sightseeing in Seville, and walked around all day long with no bother at all. Now unfortunately unless you are able to make it to an outlet like me, these boots are not available online. Don’t panic just yet as I have rounded up some really similar styles for you and what features to look out for.
Having a low block heel is key as you won’t feel a lot of pressure on the ball of your foot like you do in higher heels. Materials like faux suede are usually super soft and comfortable and don’t have to be worn in like some leather styles. If you do pick a material that needs a bit of wearing in to get comfortable, I swear by wearing slipper socks in them around the house a few times before wearing them out. This will stretch out the tighter areas, and stop you from getting dreaded pinching. From a style point of view, I have been wearing these non stop as they go with pretty much every outfit. You cant go wrong with a simple pair of black boots, and I particularly love how the pointed toe style is quite elegant and elongating for your legs.
I have put together some outfit ideas based on what I have been pairing them with recently:
I actually got this little floral dress from Zara as a birthday present, and its such an easy to wear piece. I paired it with tights and boots for drinks with friends and it was a great outfit I could wear day or evening. Sock boots are a great option if your looking for comfort, and these beauties from Asos have the perfect heel height for day to night looks.
Going all black is so chic for winter but adding a small contrast detail like these side stripe trousers will give your outfit a really modern feel. I bought these recently and have been wearing them to death. Pair them with a chunky knit or a sleek roll neck. These mixed material boots are a higher price point but boy do they look it. They will add a luxury feel to any outfit this festive season.
Last but not least, this super casual look is my favourite. Distressed relaxed jeans are always popular in Spring and Summer, but they work so well to liven up winter looks so don’t pack them away. I love a logo tshirt but you can opt for a slouchy jumper or cardigan over the top if its cold out. These boots are wide fit so you wont have to worry about them being too tight on the ankle, or they are great if you always have cold feet like me and like to wear thick socks!
